Yellowbox was chosen out of hundreds of startups worldwide, to participate in the Arcadis City of 2030 Accelerator, powered by Techstars. The accelerator program has chosen 10 startups from around the globe working on innovations to help make the cities of the future smarter. The accelerator program is based in Amsterdam, the heart of smart cities globally, and began on 2 March and will conclude on a showcase Demo Day on 28 May 2020.
Arcadis, the leading global Design & Consultancy organisation for natural and built assets, and Techstars have invested in accelerating Yellowbox’s vision of creating a global network of smart-lockers that users can hire on-demand using the yellowbox app. “We are excited to support the second year of the accelerator program and to work with these innovative startups to help cities plan for the future. These startups bring cutting-edge ideas to address the challenges of urban communities that are in need of unconventional solutions,” said Stephan Ritter, Arcadis Group Executive for Innovation & Transformation.
Yellowbox is at the heart of building smarter cities of tomorrow, having worked with councils and partners in Sydney, Australia to give communities access to the built assets around them. From pitching the idea within a university pitching competition in 2018, the Peter Farrell Cup, to participating in the UNSW 10x Accelerator Program in 2019, Yellowbox is ready to tap into the Techstars network in 2020. With 177 portfolio exits and a 8.2B portfolio market cap, Techstars’ worldwide network will provide a platform for Yellowbox to expand the network globally. “We are very excited to have Yellowbox join Arcadis and Techstars alongside other leading startups worldwide who are defining the City of 2030!”, said David Mendez, Managing Director, Techstars.
